You’ve come to the right place!

With this mentorship, you’ll receive personalized feedback and instruction tailored to your goals as an artist.
As a painter with more than 14 years of teaching experience, I’ve overseen the artistic development of hundreds of students in both private and group settings.
I’ll be able to help you with anything ranging from anatomy to composition, figure drawing, drapery, color, landscape painting and storytelling, in both digital and traditional media, while keeping things fun and manageable. Open to to artists of all levels, from beginners or seasoned pros!

Using video calls and screensharing, you will be able to watch live and ask questions as I do paintovers and demos and breakdown fundamental art concepts in simple and approachable ways. Homework assignments will target specific areas so that they are relevant to your needs, leading to noticeable improvement. I will also provide resources as well as a recommended reading list. The mentorship is 5 weeks long with an hour meeting once per week. Recordings are provided. A short questionnaire will be sent after booking to help me get to know your goals better before the first session. I will work with you to schedule a convenient time each week after booking the spot.

Ramon Hurtado is an oil painter and instructor in subjects including anatomy, figure drawing, and composition, with a particular passion for researching 19th century educational methods. He has lectured at the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, Safehouse Atelier, California State University- Long Beach, DreamWorks Animation, the Society of Illustrators, Emile Cohl Atelier, the University of Lisbon- Faculty of Fine Arts, Porto Atelier, Art Center College of Design and Grand Central Atelier.
